Most people think February 15 is just the day after Valentine’s Day, which it is, but it’s much more than that. It’s a day to celebrate everything you love and take pride in your home state, Wisconsin.
What is National Wisconsin Day?
Celebrated each year on February 15, Wisconsin Day recognizes the state’s heritage, its communities, the beautiful landscapes and the traditions that make it special and home to Wisconsin-proud establishments like Lucy’s #7.
The Wisconsin Food Spirit That Shaped Lucy
Lucy Winslow, the woman that Lucy’s #7 is named after, grew up in a real Midwest farm kitchen, where fresh ingredients and simple methods mattered. Inspired by the state (Wisconsin) itself, her early recipes were uncomplicated, effortless and honest. Representing what the state stands for.
Lucy’s 7 Burger Bar was opened, to not only commemorate the amazing Lucy Winslow, but to continue the same tradition of quality and service with farm-fresh ingredients.

A Favorite Local Tradition: Wisconsin Craft Beer
Lucy’s #7 always carries 20 Wisconsin beers on tap showing their commitment to the local makers and flavors that people associate with the state. Connecting beer culture to Wisconsin culture may seem like a negative, but it’s actually the opposite. It proves how proud the state is of their local craftmanship and celebrates it. This mirrors Lucy’s approach to food, honoring the ingenuity of the great people and the traditions of the state.
The Makers and the Market Right Outside our Door
Lucy’s #7 is extremely lucky to be situated where it is in downtown Beloit. Right outside the doors, the Beloit Farmers’ Market takes place. A market known for fresh produce, artisan goods and passionate creators surrounded by businesses and people who are proud to support them. Lucy would be thrilled to call this place home and recognize her neighbors’ accomplishments.
Wisconsin Day is the perfect excuse to boast about the amazing state and no better place to celebrate than right in the middle of Wisconsin’s traditions at Lucy’s #7.
So, let’s celebrate the state we’re lucky enough to call home with a Wisconsin-brewed beer, simple, yet delicious food and join Lucy in toasting to Wisconsin.
